Ready...Set...BLOG! Designer Diva Dietista - First Edition

As I sat watching the Golden Globes last night (guilt free I might add because I paid my deed to mans’ society by sitting through hours of masculine sweaty manly football Sunday afternoon so I could have my three hours of Golden Globe glitz and glamour) I went over a dozen different ideas and intros on how to bring the blog back in but I felt like none of them could express how excited I am to be writing again. Writing and music have always been one of my favorite therapeutic medications and with everything going on in my life right now I couldn’t think of a better way and time to bring back something I’m so passionate about. While It might only be an entry a week and I’ll be lucky to get maybe 10 views, with all that’s going on in the world today and all that’s happening in my own world the thought of expressing myself and putting myself out there that in hope maybe I can reach out to one person and make their day better or make someone think, that thought alone brings a smile from ear to ear.

I came up with the idea of Designer Diva Dietista from a range of different things that I thought not only expressed me but also would describe many of my friends out there that have the creative addiction that I do and while I might just be starting my creative journey on paper, I have no doubt that I was born with a creative gene and it’s gotten me mentally to where I am today.  Expect the look of the blog to not last long because as of this week I’m officially a part time student for Graphic and Web Design so yet again I get to start another chapter of my creative life and I couldn’t more anxious or thrilled!
As far as Dietista goes, the name speaks for itself and the MANY things I have a diet on. If you know me, have known me or will someday get to know me you will know that I basically live in a diet literally and metaphorically. I’ve been dieting all of my life and while a fraction of my life might have been out of control I think I’ve finally reached that stage in my life where it’s more than a fad diet or a detox to fit in this weekend’s dress, I finally think of it as a health choice. I’m definitely not claiming that everything I put in my mouth is healthy, and I praise the people that can, but I simply can’t. I can however watch what I eat and try to alter my unhealthy decisions by getting the grilled instead of the fried, the lean meat instead of the red meat, and the greens instead of the carbs.   My other diet exists with my checkbook and me. It wasn’t until a few years ago when I realized that it’s expensive to grow up and while there might be those few folks that are fortunate enough to not have to worry about funds and budgets and can walk into a Crate and Barrel and whip up their entire house in a day or create a work wardrobe in an afternoon Galleria trip, sadly that’s not the case for me nor will it ever be. However, I do believe that I’ve managed quite well with the funds I do have to acquire a quaint, modern, relaxing yet thrifty apartment with my boyfriend (that only has ONE non-manly room) and can’t wait for the next space I get to decorate.  The work wardrobe I’m still working on…
I just wanted to take my first blog to write a little about me and what I hope I can bring to your reading enjoyment every week and to just thank you for reading and for your support because it took a long time to get to a point where I wasn’t afraid to express what I thought in fear of rejection or different opinions, but I’m finally to that point where it’s not that I don’t care I just realize that not everybody is going to like or care what I do, not everybody is going to agree with what I do, and for sure not everybody is going to think like I do, but if I’ve reached out to just one person… then my time was worth it so thank you and until next time my loves…
